Where did you grow up?

Johnston, Rhode Island… Not Long Island...but the state, and actually the smallest one. Johnston is a town near Providence.

What is your dream job?

I love to improve businesses through process improvement, sales, and marketing… so my current job!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Narrowing down the type of businesses I work with and continuing to expand my companies; specifically J&R Marketing. I can see myself (possibly) being married with a child on the way?… (Insert I can’t predict the future face).

What advice do you typically hear that you don’t agree with?

“Don’t Sweat the Little Things.” I understand the idea behind it; focus on the big picture and don’t let the little things bother you. I just think the devil is in the details. The little things sometimes matter in a big way. A lot of the time it is the difference between landing a million dollar contract, scoring your dream job, or attracting the person of your dreams.

What is your favorite restaurant?

Ten Sushi & Prime in Providence, Rhode Island and Strega Strip in Boston, Massachusetts are two places I love. I can’t forget Cafe Nuovo in Providence as well.

Do you speak any additional languages?

Just two: English and Sarcasm.

What are your biggest regrets?

Not learning Spanish, not starting a side business in high school, and nitpicking with my high school girlfriend (Sorry Rayna.)

If someone wanted to start a business what advice would you give them?

You need to solve a problem and/or have a service that has demand. In order to execute you need a plan and you need goals. Your plan needs timelines and your goals need the ability to be measured. You won’t hit them all, but you adjust. Your most important personal goal is to make minor improvements every single day. If each day is better than the previous you’ll see major improvements. On days that aren’t better, you take the next day to get better.

What advice would you give to someone in high school?

Balance equally school, your part-time job, and personal life. I focused a bit too much on friends and girls in high school. Try to focus on what you enjoy in school, but more so out of school. Read as much as you can on what interests you, not just the things you are required to read.

What do you enjoy doing for fun?

I enjoy poker, riding my motorcycle, and playing basketball. I make goals to do more of the things I enjoy more frequently.

What advice do you have for breaking bad habits?

Ah… sleeping late, not setting goals, putting things off until last minute… I’ve had so many bad habits. I think breaking bad habits is a mindset plus a defined strategy. I recommend identifying your goals and then understanding what your bad habits actually are. Focusing on reaching your goals and removing your habit as a milestone is a great mindset to have. For those that really are stuck, I recommend searching the internet for the thousands of tips and tricks out there and trying what works best for them personally.

What is your favorite book?

I’ve read so many books, I wouldn’t be doing justice to name one. For those looking to start reading more for professional reasons, I always recommend Rich Dad Poor Dad. It’s a good eye opener, specifically for a beginner. Great business books that I live by; Scaling up, Good to Great, Think & Grow Rich, Getting Things Done, The E-Myth Revised, the list goes on. My favorite author is Malcolm Gladwell – and my most re-read books are both his – specifically Blink and The Tipping Point.
