Joe’s first entrepreneurial venture began as a high school student attending Johnston High. Inspired to find a job for spending money, Joe found his first position in the basement office of a telemarketing firm. The job was generating sales leads for a home improvement company. He quickly realized that becoming organized alleviated the high-stakes, high-pressure atmosphere shared amongst co-workers and built a small database to track his clients. He began generating more leads. Joe noticed that after clients were passed on to the sales team he was unable to control the result of the sale. This caused him to develop a greater focus on the entirety of the sales and marketing process. From this moment on Joe applied his big picture focus to his work.

Joe moved on to accept a marketing position at a home improvement company on the East Side of Providence. His duties ranged from advertising to running sales teams. Eager to learn and do more, he soon determined that as opposed to purchasing leads, a common practice of home improvement companies, there was potential for a new option. He found that building a website to generate leads would be a more direct way to gain bigger results. Joe took a chance and invested his own time and money in building the website into a reality. The service welcomed great success and was eventually acquired by a competitor. With his website project complete and successful, Joe considered his next endeavor.

Prior to the company’s relocation out of state, Joe served as the Director of Production at Teespring where he helped boost sales from 150 orders to 2000 per day. He also managed a team of eight individuals, was responsible for production, third party services, merchandising, quality control, and improving delivery efficiencies. Joe also frequently traveled to conduct vendor evaluations, inventory auditing, and contract negotiations. Joe also held the position of Director of Sales at MoFuse where he managed and trained the internal sales department. Having combined experience in sales, digital marketing, and website design, Joe wished to better execute his passion for helping others achieve. He formed J&R Marketing to work directly with businesses to repair internal processes, develop marketing plans, and fulfill custom apparel requests.

Joe attributes his passion for helping others achieve to his upbringing. Hailing from a tight-knit family, he feels inspired by his mother’s kindness to work towards positively impacting others. He also attributes his work ethic to his father who encourages him to work hard and spend wisely. As founder of J&R Marketing, Joe still works with a number of clients to help brand and market online and offline. The company has continued to add full digital marketing services and internal infrastructure to better achieve their mission of helping businesses grow. Joe still resides in Johnston, Rhode Island, and is an avid poker player, basketball player, and foodie. He is also a die-hard Celtics fan and loves his motorcycle.
