There are so many forms of social media, but I don’t want to be like everyone else… You’ve stumbled upon this article or have arrived here via the magic of a social share (thanks, Linkedin & Facebook).
So what am I focusing on doing these days? Well, the past few months have been brutal. I’m not sure why the alphabet is in the order it is in, but I do know why C-R-M are not side by side. I’ve been spending the majority of my time implementing a major CRM system. Like any CRM, (Customer Relationship Management System), it’s all about the processes and automation to help scale and improve efficiencies.
It might be assumed that since these systems are so common that they would be easy to develop, but there is a s*** ton of stuff that needs to happen for that to come to life. You need to map out processes. You need to determine the best fields and you need to scope out integrations. You also need to consider the companies you are integrating with and you need to determine which ones play nice. The scope of all this depends on the organization, of course, but it is all essential regardless of the size of infrastructure.
When the company is large you need to plan your trainings while making sure no major changes happen that can change the budget and the time frame. This is all while it is still being configured. Welp… this project and scope of work changed five times in the past month… The integrations changed twice… The team changed two times. Holy Batman!
Ugh, as I type this I feel annoyed; I should be going crazy, but I live for the chaos. I love the structure that this will bring and how processes will be required to be implemented. These are the projects that, so long as you finish and you got the right guy doing the job (I’m the RIGHT guy), are beautiful.
To see so many things line up, watch efficiencies come together, and gain clean data in one place is simply amazing. It’s like magic.
J&R News:
Things are going great. The company is really coming together and I love the team. The Director of Sales has been killing it; training and implementing some kick-ass processes that are helping hundreds of businesses get products and services that they need to help grow. I love when things come together.
New Goals:
When I haven’t been focusing on this project, I’ve been spending time decorating my new place. I’m trying to get back to reading more. It’s been hard but a chapter or two every few days is super do-able. It’s also easier than jumping back to the gym every day. I didn’t make it to the gym again today….. 235 in a row, but maybe tomorrow.
