We all know that made-for-film moment: “Well, at least things can’t get any worse!”
… and then it rains. Well, get out there and fight your rain. Get yourself busy!
The amount of busy that I am is unreal, but there’s no better feeling than the sense of accomplishment coming from that busyness launching you into productivity in a wide range of tasks and subjects. The past several months, in short, have been busy. And soon, busy will become busier.
With that said, I’ve been making efforts to structure my work more and to focus on staying consistent with tasks that build over time. And guess what? A lot of that is starting to pay off! One of these structuring efforts is to keep a more consistent work schedule, even though the hours are brutal. (And here we ask our titular question: what is sleep?)
Over the past several months, I’ve continued to spend the majority of my time as a Project Manager on a large SalesForce (CRM) roll-out. The timeline has come together nicely, but that positive outcome is the direct result of what I’ll call an unbelievably aggressive work ethic. Remind me again… what is sleep?
The beginning of a large project dependent on several departments working in unison requires a thorough understanding of the business. This breaks down to what works, what doesn’t, and, last but certainly not least, the effects that these new methods and this new technology you are implementing will have on your company.
After that, your focus turns more toward the perspectives of the members of the involved parties, the stories of clients and consumers, and knowing how to implement this feedback appropriately. And let’s not neglect the importance of numerous weekly meetings.
As always, it’s not just about one project. I began working with an awesome organization called Brawl For It All. I was a guest at their first event and then wound up working with them to re-brand, restructure and to improve their future events. The last event was phenomenal and I’m thrilled for all of the exciting updates to come. The owners are wonderful people with a great vision: to solve grudges in the ring. It’s fun, it’s exhilarating, and it’s something that I love being a part of, just like everything I work on.
QUICK WINS AND UPDATES:
- The Celtics are back on, which is the best news ever. Hayward went down with a terrible injury in the first game, which is the worst news ever.
- I’ve had an electric fireplace sitting in a box in my living room for two months now. I should probably get that on my to-do list.
- J&R has hired a new content writer and a new delivery driver. There’s also an open Account Manager position (as of posting this, anyway). So, fun things happening at the office.
- The J&R Marketing sales team has made amazing progress and I’m looking forward to rewarding them with a party at Foxwoods if they keep on hitting all of these milestones and accomplishments.
WHAT’S UP NEXT:
- The re-branding of J&R Marketing is complete and now our new website is in progress! Super excited to finally showcase the company and what it has become.
- I’m also looking forward to showcasing the fantastic work that is being done on SalesForce. (Big shout out to Justin and Pat for being so great at configuring, testing, and creating stories!)
- I still haven’t been to the gym. That makes six months straight. So… maybe there’ll be some updates there.
Oh, and happy No Shave November!
