One cup of joe, decaf please!

This Cup of Joe is served decaf black, hold the Red Bull. I’m a few years late on my commitment to post as consistently as I have my coffee, but that makes sense because I haven’t had coffee in months. About 6 months ago I challenged myself to give up caffeine cold turkey and I’ve been going strong since.

My excuse for not posting much for the last year is an office move. You might think that so far this Cup of Joe has been a near identical version of my last Cup of Joe. And you’d be right, it absolutely is.

I know it’s been a while, and we have a lot of catching up to do. I’ve been laser focused (well, maybe more like “cat trying to chase a laser” focused) on J&R. Our office has moved again, but this time into a better home.

You guys may know the story already, but I’ll go through it again quickly as a refresher. J&R started as a consulting service, where I’d sell my sales, marketing, and business expertise. As time went on, we ended up growing, hiring employees, and added print products to our growing list of services.

After moving into the Smithfield office, COVID had the world in a chokehold, and we had to slow down our ambitions a little. There were a few things we could still do, like our Support4Corona project. We gave local small businesses a platform to sell merchandise to raise proceeds for their businesses.

As COVID restrictions began to loosen, we had another addition to our growing list of services: social media. It’s been a long requested service, but we’ve never had the bandwidth to properly offer it. We’ve nearly doubled our staff, allowing us to take more social media clients, restructure our printing processes, and revamp our digital and web development offerings.

I guess you could say it’s been a little wild here. But through all the chaos and moving parts, this office is beginning to feel more like a home. We’ve got some fun things planned over the next couple of months, so look forward to those! And look forward to more Cup of Joe’s, I swear this time I’ll be posting on more of a regular schedule.

To hold you all over until next time, here are some photos of our new office space!
