“We learn by example and by direct experience because there are real limits to the adequacy of verbal instruction.”
-Malcolm Gladwell

I’m a firm believer in the power of reading in order to learn, grow, and adapt as both an individual and a professional. It’s widely acknowledged that the wealthy, the successful, and the brilliant entrepreneurs of the world devour numerous books per year. It’s a truth that is universally accepted and there’s no question as to why.

There’s no limit to the benefits of reading, especially when it comes to nonfiction. Nonfiction enables you to think differently; it shapes the way you process information, understand others, and compose yourself.

Malcolm Gladwell is one of my favorite authors for this very reason. I’ve read and re-read all of his books. Throughout his work, he shows a impressive depth of thought and a knowledge of incredibly diverse topics. He has dozens of ‘rules’ and concepts that are broken down very well in this video.

“Being an underdog changes people in ways that we often fail to appreciate. It opens doors and creates opportunities and enlightens and permits things that might otherwise have seemed unthinkable.”
-Malcolm Gladwell

He has a great way of taking information and adapting it to open up new points of view to his audience. What I particularly like about this video is that it takes more practical advice and information and packages it in a way that is both entertaining and relatable to just about everyone.

Take it from me: if you’re ambitious, then reading is absolutely invaluable to you. Get as much of it as you possibly can. And if you’re looking for a place to start, check out more of Gladwell’s work. You’ll be rewarded greatly for it.
